NILES, Ohio — Fireworks fans in Northeast Ohio have something big to celebrate: Phantom Fireworks is setting up shop at the Eastwood Mall Complex—marking a major milestone as the company launches its first-ever mall location.
This explosive addition is the result of three years of planning and collaboration between Phantom Fireworks and the Cafaro Company, which owns the Eastwood Mall. Spearheading the expansion is Ron Zoldan, the company’s Vice President and head of development, who described the venture as both exciting and strategic.
“It’s definitely a nuance for us, but we’re excited to be in this location,” Zoldan said. “There’s 12 million people that visit the Eastwood Mall each year, so we’re hoping to be a part of that Eastwood family and bring in new customers both ways.”
The new storefront, complete with the recognizable “Phantom Fireworks” signage already in place, is aiming to open just in time for the Memorial Day weekend rush or early June, depending on construction progress.

With millions of annual visitors, the Eastwood Mall provides prime visibility and foot traffic—something Phantom Fireworks hopes will light up their sales and brand awareness.
It’s also a strategic move to bridge entertainment and retail in a more integrated space, something mall operators nationwide are increasingly exploring to revitalize shopping centers.
Stocked and Ready—Despite Global Challenges
Though steep tariffs on Chinese imports have cast a shadow over many industries, Phantom Fireworks appears to be in good shape for its inaugural mall season. According to Zoldan, about 90% of the new store’s inventory is already secured.
“In the coming years, [tariffs] could definitely affect costs and how much we can import,” Zoldan acknowledged. “But we’re putting our faith in the administration that necessary exemptions will be made for industries like ours.”

With the countdown officially underway, all signs point to Phantom Fireworks making a grand entrance into the mall retail space—offering a spark of novelty, a flash of tradition, and a whole lot of boom.
